About · LISW-CP · 25+ years of experience
Hi, I’m Suzanne.
I’ve spent more than 25 years helping adults navigate anxiety, grief, substance use, and difficult life changes. That experience has taught me to listen carefully, take each person’s circumstances seriously, and offer practical help alongside understanding.
My approach draws on CBT and DBT, including DBT training with its founder, Dr. Marsha Linehan. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s happening and find ways to handle what feels difficult right now. I bring experience and structure to our work, while making room for you to tell me what fits, and what doesn’t.
Therapy should feel like a conversation built on trust and compassion. You can slow down, speak honestly, and begin to understand what has been keeping you stuck, without fear of judgment.
My philosophy
Healing doesn’t happen because someone tells you what to do. Healing happens when you finally feel safe enough to understand yourself.
Therapy that meets you where you are
We work together on goals that matter to you, building on the strengths you already have and taking manageable steps toward change.
Compassion first
Every person deserves a safe space where they feel heard.
Evidence-based care
CBT, DBT, trauma-informed, and solution-focused therapy, tailored to your goals.
Practical growth
Real tools that make everyday life feel more manageable.
Real DBT training, practical skills
I’ve invested extensively in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), including substantial training through Behavioral Tech and with DBT’s founder, Dr. Marsha Linehan, in 2005. For you, that means concrete skills you can practice and use in daily life, not just insight.
Mindfulness
Notice thoughts and feelings so you can respond with intention.
Distress tolerance
Get through hard moments without making things worse.
Emotion regulation
Understand your emotions and respond in healthier ways.
Interpersonal effectiveness
Ask for what you need and set boundaries with self-respect.
Training and experience
My background spans private practice, outpatient care, and hospital settings, including directing a 28-day substance abuse recovery center. That range helps me meet you where you are.

Beyond therapy
When I’m not meeting with clients
You’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, reading, enjoying the outdoors, or with my dog. Having grown up around horses and animals, I’ve always appreciated the sense of calm, presence, and perspective they bring. Those moments remind me of the importance of slowing down and staying connected to what matters most.
